Android 5.0 – Android Lollipop Release Date and Features

Since the release of Kit Kat, android lovers are eagerly waiting for Android 5.0 Lollipop. Also, since then buzz about Android 5.0 release date is has been started among the android lovers and it is expected that Android Lollipop will be releasing in mid of 2014. As we know that Google has a pattern for the naming of it’s android versions and according to this pattern Google names it’s versions alphabetically and that to on the name of some cool deserts. In the same pattern, it is expected that Google will name the next android version a desert name starting from ‘L’ and the confirm news is about the Lollipop.

Also, the topic of discussion is whether android Lollipop will be Android 5.0 or Android 4.5 and there is a logic behind this discussion. After the Launch of android 4.4 KitKat, it was expected from Google that it will release the versions named 4.5, 4.6 and so on with minor bug fixes, changes and enhancements, and After that it will release its Next version Lollipop with version Android 5.0 but there is something that opposes these prediction. Android released it’s version with minor changes are named as  android 4.4.1 and 4.4.2. So, this draws the attention in android community that there is a chance that the Lollipop might be Android 4.5 and not the Android 4.5. Anyhow the experts of Android community still say that Lollipop will be Android 5.0.

What-so-ever might be that, let’s have a look at features of Android 5.0 Lollipop. A minimalistic UI is expected from newer version of Android with a cleaner Lock-Screen and will also have some extended widgets and functions are also expected. Extended widgets like Music or any else will have the swipe functions.. Apart from the UI, following features are expected from the Android Lollipop. Please have a look at them:

3. Multi-Device Contacts and SMS Sync
4. A Better Video Chat Application
5. A much improved Notification Area
6. Better Android to Android Networking

Please note that the features are not officially announced by android, but these are the most talked and most expected features among Android community. Yet Google has not revealed any confirm news about the Android Lollipop but authenticate sources reveal that Lollipop will be released in mid of 2014. As usual, the nexus devices will be the first one to get the Lollipop in their devices first and than after Android Lollipop will be available on all other devices on both mobile phones and tablets. So, lets wait for the lollipop to enter in our devices.
